is a trust that represents the entire maritime industry in Norway. The maritime industry provides employment for about 100 000 Norwegians and create value over 150 billion annually. This makes the maritime industry to the second largest value creator after oil and gas.
Maritime Forum brings together about 700 companies and organizations, both employees and employers in the maritime sector. Together, they represent Naval Forums members throughout the value chain - a diversity that is precisely the maritime industry in Norway's leading edge.
The members are to be found throughout the country. Maritime Forum has presence in Northern Norway, Mid-Norway, North Norway, Bergen area, Haugalandet and Hardangerfjord, Stavanger region, Southeast coast, in addition to the Maritime Forum Central is located in Oslo. The activities will be coordinated between the Maritime Boards in such a way that the Maritime Forum Central primarily handles tasks related to the industry's common interests at the national level, as well as evaluation and development of shared resources. The Regional Maritime Boards protects the interests related to their regional area and the active contact with the members there.
Maritime Forum's vision is for Norway to be the most attractive place in the EEA to drive, own and develop maritime activities. To reach this goal, they:
- Public education and information campaigns to highlight the industry and its importance in the Norwegian society
- Political influence of the industrial policy common interests
- Enhance cooperation and dynamics of cluster
