World`s first helium-atom microscope

A new helium-atom microscope that utilises completely new technology was inaugurated at the University of Bergen in Western Norway on Monday.

A new helium-atom microscope that utilises completely new technology was inaugurated at the University of Bergen in Western Norway on Monday.
 
The microscope was developed and built by researcher and physicist Bodil Holst.
- I thought that if I did not do it, may be someone else would do it, and I could not risk that, says Holst.
 
The new instrument will be be an extremely useful tool in several of the projects in the Bergen University’s new nanotechnology research programme
