Up to 14 new Norwegian Centres for Research-based Innovation (SFI) will be launched in 2015. The Research Council of Norway has received 57 applications from companies and research groups seeking to attain SFI status.
“We are very pleased with the large response. I’m sure that the new SFI centres selected will be excellent,” says Anne Kjersti Fahlvik, Executive Director of the Division for Innovation.
The Government has stated that it will boost investment in industry-oriented research to create a more knowledge-intensive, internationally competitive Norwegian business sector. The SFI scheme is a key instrument to this end.
