ABB awards Vessel Traffic System contract to Vissim

Vissim has been awarded the contract for Mariner A platform’s vessel traffic system in the UK North Sea by ABB.

The platform will be incorporated into the Statoil system for which Vissim provides the world’s largest private sea surveillance and logistics system. This currently comprises 100 radars divided on 70 rigs.

- We are very pleased that ABB has chosen to continue using Vissim as its solution provider. This sets another milestone for the company with its expansion into the UK side of the North Sea. We hope to show similar development as this in the coming year, says Per Arne Henæs, CEO of Vissim.

The contract is for one platform and FSU. The Statoil operated Mariner field is located in the UK sector of the Northern North Sea (NNS), approximately 93 miles (150km) east of Shetland.

Project management will commence at Vissim’s newly established and fully operational hub in Slovakia with immediate effect, contributing to the further development of the Vissim’s organisation.
