The Norwegian military forces have chosen US produced anti-tank rockets, rather than Israeli, when it is about to purchase new weaponry worth NOK 600 million.

The final choice was between Eurospike, produced in Germany on licence from the Israeli company Rafael, and the US Javelin, which is produced by Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

The opposition in Parliament has criticised the Defence Department for having purchased military equipment from Israeli suppliers. In the period February to November this year, defence material worth NOK 120 million has ben purchased from Israel.

However, both Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik and Defence Minister Kristin Krohn Devold have stated that there is no general boycott of Israeli military supplies.
