Trade-Ranger, the energy and petrochemical marketplace has announced that Aker Maritime, a Norwegian-based international contractor involved in all aspects of offshore oil and gas exploitation, has joined as the marketplace's newest member.
The addition of Aker Maritime is an immediate strategic fit in one of Trade-Ranger's key geographic focus areas. Both Norway and UK North Sea are very advanced markets for oil and gas exploitation where many global energy companies and their key suppliers engage in a significant number of transactions.
"Aker Maritime joining is a big win for Trade-Ranger," said Claire Farley, chief executive officer of Trade-Ranger. "As we move toward liquidity, we are focused on strategic geographic locations that channel our efforts and produce results quickly. Aker Maritime's reputation and operating expertise in Norway will prove extremely beneficial to all of Trade-Ranger's members."
Aker Maritime is not only one of the largest contractors in the North Sea region, but it is the first contractor to team up with traditional oil companies as a partner and license holder on the Norwegian shelf.
"Providing high technology products and services in a very competitive market requires companies like ours to continually search for new solutions, both in order to supplement our product range and improve our work processes. In this respect, our ability to interact more effectively with customers, partners and suppliers through Web-based applications is one example of how we seek to improve," commented Sverre Skogen, chief executive officer of Aker Maritime.
