“We’re hoping to achieve a resolution when negotiations on an oil service pay agreement now restart,” says Jan Hodneland, chief negotiator for the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF).
These talks first began on 23 May, but the OLF and the Industry Energy union agreed to take a break. They have now returned to the table.
About 5 800 employees working for oil service companies in Norway are covered by the agreement on pay and conditions, which is being discussed on 23-24 August.
“The demands presented by Industry Energy when talks began in May were both far-reaching and expensive,” says Hodneland. “We nevertheless hope to reach agreement during these two days.”
