Sweetening Plant At Mongstad

Statoil has agreed to construct the facility of a new sweetening plant at the Mongstad Refinery near Bergen, as stated by Statoil. Construction is due to start in Autumn 2001 and the facilities are designed to remove sulphur in the cracker naphtha that is used to make petrol. Car manufacturers throughout Europe will benefit from this new petrol quality to utilise new and more efficient technology for purifying car exhaust.
