Swedish railway company to operate in Norway

The Swedish freight train operator Green Cargo started carrying cargo on their own trains on Norwegian tracks on December 15th.

The Company is Sweden's largest freight train company, and is now running freight trains to several destinations in Norway, according to a company statement.

Green Cargo has been issued a security certificate from the Norwegian State Railway Inspectorate, and the right to operate on Norwegian tracks from Norway Rails.

Green Cargo is now running daily freight trains between Hallsberg and Drammen via Lillestroem, and between Gotenborg and freight terminals in Oestfold County.

The Swedish company is so far licenced to operate on three destinations in Norway: Kornsjoe to Moss, Charlottenberg to Lillestroem and Oslo Central, and from Oslo Central to Stavanger.
