Subsidiary of the Marine Harvest Group purchase Highland Fish Farms

Pan Fish Scotland, a subsidiary of the Marine Harvest Group, completed the purchase of Highland Fish Farms on 23 February 2007.

Pan Fish Scotland, a subsidiary of the Marine Harvest Group, completed the purchase of Highland Fish Farms on 23 February 2007.

The liquidity effect from the purchase on the Group was GBP 4 110 000.
Pan Fish Scotland has been leasing the sites Loch Torridon, Loch Carron, Skye and Loch Ness from Highland Fish Farms since 2002. The management agreement under which the leasing was agreed contained an option for Pan Fish Scotland to purchase. This option has now been exercised.

The purchase is allowing Pan Fish Scotland to be more cost-effective in the long term, as well as securing for future production volumes. Especially the future freshwater capacity is secured as Pan Fish Scotland now owns a unique smolt site in Loch Ness.
