AnoxKaldnes and AquaOptima AS has signed a strategic cooperation agreement regarding water reuse technology for fish farming.

With AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR technology, AquaOptima will be able to deliver optimal solutions for water reuse with low nitrogen concentrations. This will greatly improve growth conditions for farm fish. The ammonium nitrification is reduced to 0,5 – 1 mg/l water so that approx. 99% of the water can be reused, says Marius Hægh, Region Sales Manager in AnoxKaldnes.

There is an increasing demand for water recirculation technology for Atlantic Salmon smolt (< 100g) production. Capacity of water resource is to-day limiting the increase in salmon production in Norway. This is solved by treating the wastewater and recycling it back to the farm. Empirical data from existing farms using water reuse technology shows increased survival and improved growth rate when fish is introduced to the sea, sais Idar Schei, Managing Director in AquaOptima AS.

The combination of technologies form AquaOptima and AnoxKaldnes™ MBBR will be utilized in several upcoming contracts this spring, both in Norway and internationally.
