After taking a beating for the first three days of this week, stocks rose by 2.49 percent by the close on Thursday.

Tumultuous trading on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, wiped 13 percent off the value of shares quoted on main index of the Oslo Stock Exchange.
Stocks climbed 5 percent before settling 2.49 percent up at the close. On Wednesday, prices rose sharply in the morning, but fell back again in the afternoon. Oslo’s stock market is particularly sensitive to swings in the prices of commodities, such as oil.
