Statoil to invest billions on Sleipner

Norway's national oil company Statoil is to invest NOK 4 billion on further development of the Sleipner Field, west of Stavanger. The investments include an extensive rebuilding of the production facilities on the Sleipner T platform, and the development of a new gas and light oil reservoir called Alfa North, according to the oil magazine Upstream. -The investments will prolong the production from the Sleipner Field by another two years, from 2018 to 2020, says Statoil spokesman Aoued Kaddour. Invitations to bid for the the rebuilding of the Sleipner T platform have been sent out, and contracts will be awarded at the end of June, NRK reports.
