Statoil logs oil find off Norway

Statoil found oil in the Dolly prospect in the North Sea's Tampen area. The discovery lies north of the Gullfaks satellites Rimfaks and Gullveig. The Deepsea Trym recently completed the first section of the well. Results of an extensive logging and coring program are now under evaluation. Statoil also found hydrocarbons in two other structures - 33/9-8A Ole and 33/9-8S Dolly, west of Rimfaks. Possible solutions for development as supplementary resources to the major Tampen area fields will be evaluated during the winter.
