Star Information Systems confirmed as latest MSG reseller

The leading software solutions provide Star Information Systems (SIS) is the latest organisation to become a reseller of the MSG data code, the digital version of the Marine Stores Guide.

IMPA agreed the deal with SIS in February that will see the Norwegian company recommend IMPA’s data code to shipping companies that want to implement it in their purchasing systems.

Commenting on the deal, IMPA’s Ray Deekes said: ‘we are delighted to have such a well-known and prestigious company on board with us. SIS is one of the leading maritime software providers in the world and its products are second to none. We are excited about working alongside them and hope that they can help us to continue the growth of the Marine Stores Guide.’

Martin Karlstad, Director of Sales at Star Information Systems added: ‘We are of course very happy about this. We provide software for many customers who are members of IMPA, and see this as an additional service to our customers.

‘We often get questions from our customers to provide this product, which we now are able to do. In addition we see this as a stamp of approval to have IMPA on our side. We expect that it will give us tighter connection with our customers, since this now will be an added value to our software. And of course we see this as an exciting business opportunity.’

The agreement is effective immediately and is likely to see SIS offer the MSG code alongside its array of leading maritime software products that include modules for purchasing, maintenance, asset management, project management and safety, among others.

The Marine Stores Guide meanwhile continues to go from strength to strength. The latest update for the data version of the guide is now available, featuring more than 40,000 products, while the sixth edition is due to be published in September.
