Skanska signs deal with Powel

Powel Gemini is set to become Skanska’s main solution for surveyors in Norway.

Powel today announces a framework agreement with Skanska for the use of Gemini 3D solutions as their main tool for surveyors within the company. Following a short test period at Skanska, the company settled on Powel’s 3D solutions and Skanska in Norway, Skanska Norge, will start implementing the software during the rest of 2014 and 2015.

This autumn, 15 new employees of Skanska Norway became the first users to undergo training in Gemini 3D Entreprenør. During 2015, Skanska will conduct further training amongst their 140 surveyors.

Skanska’s subsidiaries Vassbakk & Stol and Marthinsen & Duvholt are already active users of Gemini 3D Entreprenør.

Following this deal, Skanska is set to become a new and active customer of our 3D solutions. Gemini 3D Terreng, our complete software solution for projecting of technical infrastructure, is currently used by more than 750 customers in Norway. In addition, more than 450 student licenses are issued to colleges in Bergen, Gjøvik and Telemark, which use the solutions in their teaching.

“Together with the frame agreement with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Statens Vegvesen, from earlier this year, this reinforces Powel’s position as a market leader within the contracting business,” says Bård Benum, CEO of Powel. “This is a large and important contract for Powel, and we look forward to further cooperation with such an important customer.”

“Skanska chose to invest in Gemini Entreprenør both as it provides the most complete solution for our business and because it is made according to Norwegian standards,” says Trond Petter Eide, Director of Skanska Survey. “In addition, it was important to us that Powel has shown the willingness and ability for development, and that they are open to taking our feedback into consideration when developing the software. We believe that Powel’s expertise in their area make them a valuable collaborator for us,” he finishes.
