So far this year, seven new oil- and gas finds have been made on the Norwegian Shelf, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD). More than half the finds were made in the North Sea.
The reports says four of the new discoveries were made in the North Sea, two in the Norwegian Sea and one in the Barents Sea.
- We are pleased to have made seven new finds, and three of them are of a considerable size, says NPD director Bente Nyland.
During the first six months of this year, 19 new exploratory wells had been started on the Norwegian shelf. This is two less than in the same period last year.
