The selection of Hammerfest is a part of Sevan Marine's strategy towards the Goliat field. Sevan Marine's vessel is particularly suitable for operations in the Barents sea, due to the unique stability of the Sevan FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) in demanding weather conditions.

The Company is currently in the process of concluding a comprehensive study for the use of Sevan's cylindrical FPSO on the Goliat field. The contract for the FPSO is expected to be awarded in the fourth quarter of 2008, and Sevan Marine is one of two contenders. Sevan is clear on where the Company in such case will have its base.

- Hammerfest is our first choice, and we would like to contribute in a positive way and create activity in the Hammerfest area, says Jan Erik Tveteraas, CEO of Sevan Marine ASA.
