Search And Rescue Contract Awarded By Statoil

As stated by oilonline, Statoil has placed a five year contract worth NOK 350 million for search and rescue services in the Norwegian Sea to Norsk Helikopter. The service will cover the Heidrun, Asgard, Draugen, Njord and Norne fields. The helicopter will be equipped with an infrared camera to identify people and oil spills in the water and can fly in virtually all weather conditions. Operators Statoil, Shell and Norsk Hydro will share the costs involved for the hiring of the helicopters.
