The export of seafood from Norway to the EU dropped in August, while it increased to Japan, Norway's most important single market for fish.
The export of seafood from Norway in August totalled NOK 1.9 billion, an increase of NOK 34 million from the same month last year.
So far this year, Norway has exported seafood worth NOK 17.5 billion, a drop of NOK 1.5 billion compared with the same period last year.
The export of fish products to the EU nations in August totalled NOK 1.1 billion, down by NOK 24 million from last year.
The main reason for this was a reduction in the export of salmon to this region.
The biggest increase came in the export of fish products to the Russian market, mainly frozen herring, salmon and trout.
