Sea Launch blast-off delayed

A satellite launch from the Sea Launch platform, in which Norway's Kværner Group is a major partner, was cancelled at the last minute, but not because of any problem with the platform or launch systems. The owner of the satellite, XM Satellite Radio, called off the launch 11 seconds before lift-off when it discovered a fault on the satellite itself. The launch in the central Pacific Ocean has been rescheduled for next week. Kværner built the floating Sea Launch platform and the mission control ship. All told, it has invested some USD 450 million (NOK 4 billion) in the rocket-launch venture in partnership with American and Russian aerospace companies.
