Robot-based Warehouse System Exported to Germany

The Norwegian company Element Logic AS has exported its innovative “AutoStore” automated storage and retrieval system to Bergans Outdoor GmbH in Hamburg.

AutoStore is a cubical automated warehouse robot system that stores goods in boxes which are collected by a robot. The users of the system consequently increase operational efficiency and reduce their need for storage space.

Change of plans

With the delivery of the system to Bergans GmbH in Germany, European consumers can enjoy better access to Norwegian outdoor equipment. According to Element Logic’s CEO, export financing was a decisive factor in supplying their system to Bergans’ facility in Hamburg.

“A profitable project and an effective financing solution from Export Credit Norway made Bergans change their plans for a manual storage facility to an automated solution. They did so, despite lower costs in Germany than Bergans is used to in Norway. It is thanks to the flexibility of Export Credit Norway and GIEK that we secured the contract. Now, we are well-positioned to offer our services for an expansion of the facility in the near future”, says CEO of Element Logic, Dag-Adler Blakseth.

Eksportkreditt, GIEK

Simplified Application

The German subsidiary of Bergans AS was offered Export Credit Norway and GIEK’s simplified application and loan documentation. Export Credit Norway provided a EUR 1.8 million loan with a maturity of 5 years. The guarantors are GIEK (90%) and DNB Bank ASA (10%).

Element Logic existing of 29 employees is a leader in supplying effective systems for both small and large warehouses.
