Pumping iron on company time

Thorbjørn Jagland, the chairman of Norway’s Labour Party, has proposed that corporations allow employees to exercise during work hours. The national association of employers said it favours measures to reduce sick time, but it fears that time off for exercise would take away too much of the workday – up to several hours per week when showers and transportation are taken into account. The employers’ group also said the people who really need exercise would be the least likely to take it if offered.
