Powel helps Mälarenergi become even more agile

Path breaking opportunities to model and execute processes through the Cordys platform.

Mälarenergi Elnät AB continues along the road to increased customer value and more efficient business processes with the help of Cordys and Powel. Cordys is a global provider of software for business process innovation for the modeling, monitoring and orchestration of business processes. For Mälarenergi, this will mean better insight into daily operations and automated flows for the measurement, collection, control, follow-up and analysis of all processes running in the power grid. Using the Cordys platform, Mälarenergi can integrate its existing systems and increase efficiency and customer benefits.

Assessing the right information when you need it

The Cordys platform complements existing enterprise software such as ERP and CRM but adds agility, visibility and control to business operations. The Cordys platform combines the world of integration, Business Process Management, and composite application development based on a highly scalable architecture, delivering a complete Platform-as-a-Service. Through Application Management, Powel will take comprehensive responsibility for a number of products through all stages, from delivery to active support. As a result Powel will deliver Powel BPM, powered by the Cordys business tools, but also Powel ELIN, Powel Elsmart and Powel MDMS. Eventually, Powel will integrate Cordys with both Elsmart and MDMS.

“With the help of Powel and Cordys, we get a hub for our existing systems that can monitor all aspects of our grid processes. We are talking about everything from connection processes to follow-up of provider changes and customer moving processes. When information passes through several systems, there is always a risk of some data getting lost. Now we are minimizing that risk and can dispose of manual handling, while at the same time management personnel can access key figures from our process dashboards presented in real time. The information that is necessary for our customers’ daily operations can now pass through all systems with real-time checking. This means, for example, that it will be easier to monitor and take corrective actions during connection and provider change processes. At the end of the day, it’s all about increased customer value and extracting the right information when we need it. In other words, we can provide better service to our customers and avoid having information bottlenecks somewhere within our processes” stated Jonas Persson, Grid Marketing Manager at Mälarenergi Elnät.

Flexibility through multiple areas of use

However, it is not just Mälarenergi Elnät that will benefit from all of the advantages of Powel and Cordys. The agreement provides benefits for the entire Mälarenergi AB group services, which means that Cordys can also be used for other processes, such as heating and water supplies. Cordys is very flexible and can be integrated with most systems on the market today.

“Mälarenergi will benefit greatly by using Cordys and Powel solutions covered by the agreement. There is currently no other company besides Powel in the Nordics that can provide such a comprehensive, flexible platform for checking and controlling business processes. Mälarenergi is a sizable and important player viewed as a pioneer in the Nordic energy sector. It is clearly well advanced in its thinking and is a perfect partner for utilizing Cordys’ many advantages and possibilities” explained Adam Östergren, Account Manager at Powel.
