The Ormen Lange field off the coast of Møre and Romsdal have four potential landfall locations for gas, according to Norsk Hydro.
Studies are underway and plans for development and operation are scheduled in the third quarter of 2003.
Gas production is estimated to start in 2007.
Norsk Hydro is in control of the planning and development while Norske Shell will be responsible for the production phase.
The two alternatives at present involves offshore installation of a large deep-water platform for complete processing of gas to be exported directly southwards off the coastline and the second, the development of a subsea installation along with a onshore processing plant situated on the Møre coast from where the gas would be exported.
Since December last year, four locations in Møre and Romsdal have been considered for further studies. They are:
Tjeldbergodden in Aure
Stavnes in Averøy
Nyhamn/Gossen in Aukra
Skår/Baraldsnes in Haram
