The Norwegian based oil company InterOil has announced that it has found oil in an exploratory well drilled in Peru, immediately North of the Mirador South Field.
The well encountered the main reservoir at 2500 ft, which is similar to the Mirador South Field. Several zones with oil shows were observed during drilling of the well.
During initial testing, the well produced equivalent of 1'250 bopd.
InterOil expects to put the well in full production within a week, is very encouraged about this new discovery, and plans to put focus on this field. The next well will test the Southern part of the new structure and will be spudded within a few days.
