Pay deal agreed for drillers

“We’re pleased to have come to terms with Industry Energy over a revised agreement on pay and conditions for drilling personnel,” says Jan Hodneland, chief negotiator for the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF).

Rise
The deal involves a general pay rise of 4.5 per cent from 1 June this year, and a lump sum increase of NOK 3 641. Shift and night supplements are increased by NOK 4 per hour.

In addition, a rise of NOK 6 has been agreed for conference time, and the supplement for working on public holidays has been raised by NOK 170 to NOK 1 800.

Some adjustments have also been made to the pay grades of roughnecks and materials administrators.

“This proved an expensive settlement, but we’re glad to have avoided a third offshore strike in one year,” Hodneland comments.
