Stavanger, Norway, December 3, 2012 – Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has been awarded a contract by Eni for the supply of the ParkerRPMS™ (Remote Position Monitoring System) for Goliat. The order includes delivery of two ParkerPMS™ systems to two Knutsen OAS shuttle tankers.
Parker PMS™ (located on the shuttle tankers) is a real-time data acquisition, calculation, logging, and display system initially designed to monitor DP-controlled offshore oil loading or station keeping for rigs and other vessels. The system provides a logging facility to record system input to data files.
The RPMS, onboard Goliat FPSO, receives the information from the PMS onboard the shuttle tanker via wireless network.
The ParkerPMS™ as well as the ParkerRPMS™ will be enhanced and modified especially for the Goliat operation and will play an important role in safety during crude oil loading in the Artic.
The oil flow information from Goliat will be received onboard the shuttle tanker. Alarms will be generated if something abnormal occurs. In addition the shuttle tanker's NMVOC emission information will be logged and displayed onboard the shuttle tanker. Information will be transmitted back to Goliat.
