Oseberg Sor field christened off Norway

Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry christened Norsk Hydro's Oseberg Sor oil and gas platform in the North Sea. The ceremony attended by management and guest representatives from the government and partner companies. The Oseberg Sor field commenced production last month from a well drilled from the nearby Oseberg Center installation. Oseberg Sor consists of several structures south of the main Oseberg petroleum field and was developed with an integrated drilling, accommodation and production platform on a steel jacket in 333 feet waters. The platform was built to accommodate the drilling of 30 wells. Four additional wells are planned from the nearby Oseberg B platform. Oseberg Sor's has a total of 346 million barrels of recoverable oil and 16 billion cubic meters of recoverable gas.
