This weeks sees Africa's largest solar energy plant being opened by State Secretary Pål Arne Davidsen.
The solar energy plant is locted in Kalkbult, South Africa. Norfund has invested NOk 80 million in the plant, along side funds from the Guarantee institute for Exprot Credit.
The plan is that the plant will supply enough power to meet the electricity needs of 33 000 South African households. This will in turn reduce CO2 emissions by almost 100 000 tonnes.
