Oil Find On Danish Continental Shelf

Statoil has made a small North Sea oil discovery on the Danish Continental Shelf, as stated by the Oil and Gas Journal and Oilnet. Located 7km east of Statoil's Siri-Field, the discovery is called Stine segment II and its purpose was to prove oil reserves for production using the Siri platform. "The platform has a production capacity of 50,000 barrels of oil per day but currently produces about 30,000 barrels", says Mr Tungesvik, who is responsible for the drilling operation. Production is expected to start in September.
