Nuclear research called world class

An international group of energy experts has recommended that the government continue the Halden Project and nuclear research in Norway beyond 2002. According to the group, work carried out by the Institute for Energy Technology (ITE) is world class, and its continuation will ensure that Norway retains expertise in the important field of nuclear safety. The Halden Project has operated as part of an OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) programme since 1958.
