Norwegian jobless down to 3.5 percent

Norwegian unemployment fell to a seasonally adjusted 3.5 percent of the workforce in the three-month period Dec.-Feb., down from 3.6 percent in the previous quarter, Statistics Norway said Friday.

The December-February figure, slightly lower than an average forecast of 3.6 percent in a Reuters survey of seven economists, showed that the number of unemployed people fell by 1,000 people in the period to 84,000.
The figures compared with 3.6 percent a year ago. The figures are a result of a labor force survey.
