Norway's entrepreneurial spirit

Among all Europeans, Norwegians are the most eager and decisive in starting their own businesses, thanks to the availability of start-up capital and a sense of initiative, according to a global survey.

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) conducted extensive interviews in 21 countries to find out what percentage of the adult population was in the process of establishing a new business, whether alone or in partnership with others. The 5.5 percent who answered yes in Norway put this country at the top of the European rankings. But five countries in North and South America scored even higher.
