Norway And Vietnam Tie Up Oil And Gas Plan

According to, Norway's oil and gas department and the Norwegian environmental pollution control agency has signed cooperation contracts with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam) strived at fulfilling Phase Two of an agreement for sustainable oil exploration in Vietnam. October of 1996, Norway carried out the first phase of the project with Norway funding NOK 25.36 million as a non-refundable aid for the purpose of promoting safe and environmentally friendly oil and gas excavation in the country. PetroVietnam has successfully completed the program for personal training, technology transfer and application of Safety Management Regulations in its oil and gas industry. The second phase now attempts at developing the results recorded during the first phase and continue improving PetroVietnam's capacity to operate safely in order to prevent accidents as well as environmental damage.
