NORSOK platform davit first

Vestdavit will supply the first NORSOK compliant davit to an oil platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The Norsok R-002 2012 davit will be a part of a complete lifesaving package on a new platform. The platform is currently under construction and will be installed in the Norwegian North Sea in 2015.
Area Sales Manager Bjørnar Dahle says, “The NORSOK regulations call for redundancy in all systems and have stricter safety factors and speed requirements than current davits. We are very proud that this operator has entrusted us with this first order under the new regulations. Many of our systems already met the new specifications, so it is a case of regulation catching up with the best in the business. We have the best experience in the business of the types of equipment required to provide these high speeds and extra levels of redundancy and safety.”
