NOK 2.25 million to workshops and cooperation projects in 2015

The call in November 2014 had up to NOK 2.5 million for workshops and projects that promote the strategic objectives of Svalbard Science Forum (SSF), including coordination and collaborative efforts in research activities in Svalbard.

The SSF received a total of 15 applications. Applications were processed administratively by a panel composed of in-house staff and external experts with experience from Svalbard. The final funding decision has been made by the administration in the Research Council of Norway (RCN).

Priority in this call was given to workshops or projects that:

  • Continue to develop the existing four Ny-Ålesund flagship programs.
  • Establish new SSF flagship programs for scientific cooperation in Svalbard.
  • Follow up the recommendations outlined in reports from previous SSF Workshops (organized by SSF or by researchers with SSF strategic funding support).
