New helicopter simulator to increase safety

FlightSafety opened a new simulation centre Monday in Stavanger, Norway.

Norsk olje og gass have been one of the supporters of the project that has been set up to train for use of Sikorsky S-92.

This is the first training centre of its kind in Norway, which will provide training of helicopter pilots, increasing the safety of flights to and from the rigs.

"Today we celebrate a milestone for a collaboration that started more than four years ago. Considering the Sikorsky S-92's increased activity in Norway, we need a simulator for training like this. This centre is a milestone for helicopter safety," says David Powell, the international director for business development i FlightSafety International.
