Hydro Agri has ordered a new LPG/ammonia vessel due to be delivered in late 2004/early 2005. The intention is to further strengthen the global trade and shipping activities in a field where Agri already occupies the leadership position.
Hydro Agri's global leadership position in mineral fertilizers is based on six areas of particular strength. One of these is ammonia, where Hydro Agri's combined strengths in production, trade, maritime storage and shipping are providing an unequalled platform for value creation.
In order to further extend its global ammonia trade and shipment activities, Hydro Agri has signed an agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries for the construction of a 60.000 cubic metre LPG/ammonia vessel. A second ship is still under consideration.
The ship now contracted, is due to be delivered in late 2004 or early 2005 and will be managed by an external operator that have yet to be selected.
