People in Eastern Europe consume more Norwegian salmon than ever before.

So far this year, Norway has exported 43,000 tons of salmon to 18 East European countries.

This is 150 per cent more than two years ago, according to public broadcaster NRK.

The main reason is that consumers in the East have acquired more purchasing power, coupled with an increasing number of supermarkets in the region.
