Ministerial Forum on Offshore Energy Safety

The Norwegian Minister of Labour Hanne Bjurstrøm and the Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy Ola Borten Moe have invited representatives from countries with major offshore oil and gas activities and industry experts to discuss issues related to safe and environmentally responsible offshore energy exploration and production.

The Forum takes place in Trondheim, Norway on June 27, 2012 and is a follow up to last year’s Ministerial Forum on Offshore Drilling, Blowout and Containment held in Washington, DC.

The following Ministers will attend the Forum:

Canada - Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development John Duncan

Iceland – Minister of Energy, Industry and Tourism Oddny G. Hardardottir

New Zealand –Minister of Energy and Resources Phil Heatley

USA - Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar

Representatives from the Governments of Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom will also be present.


Experts from the petroleum companies and the supply industry will also attend the conference.
