Military cooperation between Norway and Sweden

Swedish technicians are currently assisting in maintaining Norwegian military helicopters operating in Afghanistan, due to a heavy work load on the Norwegian maintenance personnel.

This is applauded by the Norwegian Conservative Party, which would like to see more military cooperation between the Nordic countries.

- This shows that the cooperation between the Nordic nations is functioning. We want more of this, says the leader of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs, Ine Eriksen fro the Conservative Party.

The Norwegian helicopters have been operating in Afghanistan for two years, and are used to evacuate injured military personnel in the north of the country, where the Norwegian and Swedish troops are stationed.
