Meet the political head of Norway's knowledge sector

New beginnings is a recurring theme throughout the latest issue of Forskning magazine. Bladet Forskning 2-12_forside We take a look at the ambitious plans for the new clean energy programme that is taking over for the highly successful RENERGI programme, and we meet the Research Council’s brand-new International Director, Kristin Danielsen.

When it comes to product development, research and design go hand in hand, as the developers behind an innovative sea lice trap can attest. Researchers and industrial designers teamed up to help the aquaculture industry – and their efforts quickly led to a product now ready for proof-of-concept testing.

Other topics in this issue: Innovation and passion, research figures as a basis for policy-making, and the future of the Research Council’s comprehensive funding scheme for independent basic research projects (FRIPRO).
