KONGSBERG systems for seven new LNG tankers

Kongsberg Maritime has received an order for equipment for seven new LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas)tankers, scheduled to be built in Korea by Samsung Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.

The aggregate value of the orders is MNOK 96, and delivery is scheduled from late-2004 to mid-2005.

One of Kongsberg Maritime's main goals has been to develop an integrated automation system for LNG carriers. These orders confirm KONGSBERG's strong position and the fact that we are steadily winning market shares, a company statement says.

-KONGSBERG is responsible for deliveries to altogether 28 vessels currently on order or under constructions, states Vice President Sales & Marketing Asia, Pål Rønning with satisfaction.
