Kongsberg Automotive will deliver seat heat systems worth EUR6 million

Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has been awarded a contract for seat heat systems worth EUR 6 million (NOK 45 million) over a 5 year model lifetime to one of the best selling full-size pick-up trucks in the North American market.

“This means that KA products will be keeping thousands of Americans warm and comfortable while driving their trucks during the cold season. Even though this is not our biggest contract in terms of value, it is still strategically important as it shows the confidence that this manufacturer has in our designs. The customer relationship with this customer is very important for KA, as they continue to specify high comfort features for their vehicles such as seat heat, lumbar support systems and head restraints,” says Executive VP for Interior, Scott Paquette.

Start of production is July 2014, and production is planned for theReynosa,Mexicofacility.
