One-third of public research funding in Norway is channeled via the Research Council of Norway. The organization’s key figures for the period 2008-2012 are now available.
The Research Council administers allocations from 16 ministries and receives approximately 5 500 grant proposals for new projects every year. In 2012, these allocations totalled more than NOK 7.2 billion. Nearly 40 per cent of this funding is allocated by the Ministry of Education and Research.
