On the 8th of October, 2010, Isovator AS received an accreditation certificate for ISO / IEC 17025 (2005) from the Norwegian Accreditation body. The accreditation applies to chemical analyses of refrigerant gases CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs, specifically the analysis of mixtures of used refrigerants which are returned for disposal or recycling to Stiftelsen Returgass’ in Hokksund.
The analysis is performed to determine which (qualitative) and how much (quantitative) of each refrigerant component has been returned. The analyses are run on samples taken from each container delivered to Stiftelsen Returgass (SRG). The results form the basis for calculating the refund to our customers in the form of a government reimbursement for HFC/PFC components and/or an industry-based deposit for HCFC 22.
“As far as we know, there is no other laboratory in the world which has a similar type of accredited method as the one we now have," says Lisbeth Solgaard, General Manager of Isovator AS. We have strived for this accreditation over some years; it is a quality stamp for the work we perform in our laboratory.
Isovator AS is wholly-owned, subsidiary of SRG, which runs a nationwide system for used hazardous halogenated gases such as CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs. Isovator AS’ primary responsibility is to operate SRGs business in Norway. The company's laboratory performs an important role in SRG’s reception system and the governmental reimbursement system for HFCs/PFCs in Norway.
