Norway's national oil company, Statoil, is to increase its activity off the coast of Northern Norway, NRK reports.
Despite increased taxes for Statoil from January 1st, the company has already started exploratory drilling on three new sites in the North so far this year.
This autumn, the company will probably start another two wells.
Most of the exploratory wells will be sunk close to existing wells on the Norwegian Shelf and in the Barents Sea, according to NRK.
Statoil's main base in Northern Norway is located at Harstad.
