ICCA Elections for Italians

The first Italian representative in the Board of Directors of the International Congress and Convention Association ICCA.

Francesca Manzani, Marketing & Sales Manager of Newtours S.p.A. part of the ARI Group, has been elected in the ICCA Board of Directors, the International Congress & Convention Association which counts more than 950 members all over the world. Italy, one of the founding fathers of ICCA, had never had a representative in the Board before. Elections took place on November 24th during the 49th ICCA General Assembly and Congress held in Hyderabad, India.

Francesca, 38 years old, has a wide experience in different business sectors, from high fashion to biomedical applications with leadership in telemedicine EU projects; from photographic archive developing B2B and B2E platforms for e-learning, to the management of a sales force all over Europe. She has been actively working in the meetings industry since 1995 and always covered roles of Congress, Communication and Marketing Manager and Marketing & Sales Manager for primary companies.

Francesca is involved in ICCA since 2004, becoming a well-known member. She was elected by colleagues as representative of the Meetings Management Sector, one of the largest sector within ICCA with 258 members. Three candidates for two vacancies and she got it!

“The elections’ result awards the strong activity done by my company, the ICCA Italian Committee and myself in the last years. I was on the front line both as PCO Project Director as well as Co-Chair of the Local Host Committee for the organization of the 48th ICCA General Assembly and Congress in Florence last year. The visibility and good results obtained brought me to think about the new challenge of the Board activity. I know it will be demanding but I am enthusiastic and ready for a strong commitment to the association. I am sure it will represent an important and incomparable moment of growth both for my professional skills and for my personal and human maturity. The support and trust of my colleagues is a recognition of the value of my passionate and pragmatic approach to my job and to the association’s life”.

Numerous letters of congratulations from Italian and international clients, colleagues and friends in the business sector welcomed Francesca back from India. “I got so many demonstrations of esteem and appraisal for my first Board mandate that I cannot but appreciate and reciprocate with a tremendous work to reach new goals for the good of all association members. I am truly ready for this terrific experience”.
