Hydro Magnesium has been named a General Motors Supplier of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. Hydro, which received the award last weekend at a ceremony in Washington DC, was recognized for superior performance in quality, service, technology and price.
"Hydro Magnesium represents the best of the best and has set an example during the past year for other companies to follow," said Bo Andersson, executive in charge of GM Worldwide Purchasing. "Hydro is a role model and it's an honor to work with a company so committed to supporting our priorities for quality, launch and a balance between current and future business."
The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics, who base their decisions on suppler performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, GM honored 165 suppliers from 19 countries.
The award given to Hydro Magnesium was accepted by Derrick Webb, vice president sales and marketing. He gave full credit to the North American production, market development and sales teams for their dedication to product and service quality.
Hydro Magnesium is recognized by GM as a full service provider. The company is a leading supplier of alloyed magnesium ingot, and in recycling of die caster returns back to high purity ingot. As a supply partner, Hydro Magnesium supports GM with applications development assistance and works with its suppliers of magnesium die castings to improve environmental, safety and operational standards.
